July 2014 ~ goin' viral

July was quite the busy and interesting month. We spent the 4th of July over in New Smyrna Beach, just as we do each year. Libby and Lucy were down visiting with us which is always fun. That in itself makes the vacay.
So on the actual 4th we spent most of our day down at the beach, as usual. We pushed the boys until they couldn't go any further, which means when Cameron had a meltdown. So we all walked back up to the house to let them decompress and nap for a bit before the real festivities began. We left our belongings down in the sand as we usually do, which included the beach cart with a few chairs, boogie boards and our kids beach bag with toys. We also left our canopy set up as it's kinda a pain to assemble/disassemble. Once up that house we had a couple of cold beverages and the boys were relaxing. Cork, Rich's dad, thought it would be a good idea to go and check on our stuff down at the beach since it was the 4th of July and he thought beach patrol would've had a problem with us keeping it up and unattended. So Rich headed down on his own. A short 15 minutes later, Lib and I receive a text from Rich with just a video. After watching the video we both got in the car and darted down to the beach where this was happening:

In case you were wondering, that's our stuff. And that's my husband filming. And his video kinda went viral. No big deal. LOL

And in case you were wondering what happened afterwards. Here is Rich's interview with GAWKER

OMGEEEEE

I have the best husband in the world. End of story. This morning, the day before our beach vacation, he surprised me with an early birthday present. The Nikon D600!!!! I've been sweating this full frame camera for sometime. I've had the D7000 for a couple of years, but was so eager to move on to bigger and better. For months he's been telling me it wouldn't even be a consideration until I sold my d7000. Then this happened. Omg, I am bursting with excitement. A beach getaway with my family AND a new camera to play with. I must be dreaming.

Babydaddy Day

I wish I could say we spent Father's Day at the beach or a theme park. Even wish we could say we went to the finest steak house for dinner. Instead, we all spent the weekend on the couch. Sick as dogs. It all started with Rich, and worked it's way down to every single one of us.
We did manage to make one trip out... Walmart. We never shop there, but with our beach getaway quickly approaching (this weekend!!!), we needed some serious sun shade. We purchased a pop-up canopy which I can't wait to put to use. Luckily, we all fit in perfectly at Wally World with our coughs and runny noses :)
The boys did manage to surprise their dad with a new t-shirt he wanted, as well as a commercial grade garment steamer. Their dad is a Wrinkle Release spray maniac so hopefully we can put that placebo affect to rest.
Spencer and Cameron are so lucky to have this guy as their dad. He loves these boys like no other and I know the feeling is equally mutual. I couldn't have chosen a better father for my children. We love you, babe!

Lucky

"Lucky" is an understatement when it comes to my husband. I can't help but feel extremely thankful to have found him and to still have him in my life. He has not only shown me life and love, but has also given me the two most beautiful gifts in the world.

I'm highlighting this wonderful man because on St. Patty's Day this year (two days ago), marked EIGHT years of us meeting. Each year from March 17th, the day we met, through March 20th, our wedding day, is always a special celebration. Then again, who doesn't like week long celebrations?!

We have decided to take the day off tomorrow for an adult "play date". Rich and I will be at Universal eating, drinking and riding all of the rides we can't usually ride because of the little tykes always being with us. The forecast calls for 60% chance of rain, but we'll take our chances. Even if it does rain on our parade, we'll make the best of it as we always do.

Cheers!

Oh, happy day

Happy, Happy Birthday to my Main Squeeze! Today the baby daddy turns 34 (whoa!). It's so hard to believe that I have known this man since he was 26 years old. He was 26 and I was 22 when we first met. We were still babies, it seems.
We sure have created a beautiful life together, and for this, I am forever grateful. Rich is the best husband and father, and Spencer, Cameron and I are so lucky to call him "ours".

We had a weekend full of celebrating, and tonight the party continues. Friday, the four of us landed at Longhorn Steakhouse for a pre-game dinner. Saturday, Rich and I had our monthly "date night" and spent the evening on Park Ave celebrating another friends birthday. Sunday, my parents, Rich's parents and of course our boys all went and enjoyed an awesome Mexican dinner. We went to Maria Bonita in East Orlando. We've been there a few times before, and they have never disappointed us. The food is always amazing, and their portions are crazy big. We both had a full lunch today with our leftovers.

for the birthday boy

It was a great weekend full of great food and even better company. The celebration will end this evening at Carrabba's with just the four of us. We were both trying to watch our calories and get back to a more healthy state of mind, but it's been extremely difficult these past few days. After tonight though, it's back on the wagon!

Playing catch up

Holy behind, Batman! We've been one busy bunch and I have a feeling this is how it's going to be from here on out.
Some exciting news to share--- November 9th is the big day! My own version of Labor Day, that is. Our baby Cameron will here at noon that day unless the little mister has alternate plans of his own. So that's almost eight weeks away and the pressure and nerves are setting in. Pressure to have everything ready, and nervous about what we may have gotten ourselves into. Hahaa (kidding... partially)
So since so much has been happening, I'm not going to stay up all night rambling about it. Instead, I'll let the pics do the talking.

Thanks to our friends at Vitalic Photo, here is our Family Maternity Shoot from August 18th. I was 28 weeks:

During Labor Day (the National holiday) weekend I had my mom and family visiting us in Orlando. My ma'dukes and bestie, Rania, threw us a baby sprinkle to help welcome Cameron. Everything from the decor, to the food, fun and smiles was all perfect. Those two are pretty much shower throwing extraordinaires by now between our wedding shower and now two baby showers. I think we'll give them a break for a long while :)
Here are a few pics of the set-up. You can view the rest and everyones smiling faces on my Flickr site.

Then just a few short days after our action packed weekend we went for our 3d ultrasound at 30 weeks to take a sneak peak of our baby boy. It was crazy scary how much Cameron resembled his brother. Their 3d ultrasounds are almost identical. It's going to be interesting to see if he is born as Spencer's mini-me.

And last, but not least, a 30 week belly shot if moi:

This weekend I am leaving my baby boy for the first time in 17 months. Rich and I are taking a "baby moon" before Cameron arrives, and while I should be stoked about getting out of town, I'm actually dreading it a little. Mixed emotions...
I know that we really need this alone time together before our life gets a tad more crazy, but I know myself and know that I won't be able to take my mind off of Spencer. I'm not ready to leave the little turd. I have no desire to. I probably sound crazy, but I just enjoy him so much. I don't feel I need time away from him. I know he'll be in good hands, but I just wish we could also pack his little bag to let him come and roam free on the beach of Captiva Island with us. Who knows, maybe I'll surprise myself and be able to actually relax. That does have a nice ring to it :) Wish me luck! Babymoon update We had a wonderful time! I cried for about the first twenty minutes on the road, but after a short pity party for one, some jokes from Rich, and food/coffee bribery, I was good. I was even better once we got to Captiva as everything was simply beautiful. The water was amazing. The weekend seemed to fly by and we were home before we knew it. I was extremely anxious. Spence had a great spoil filled weekend with his Nana and Papa. A few shots from our little getaway:
