13 weeks

Hello Second Trimester!


It's so nice to meet you. I'm hoping you're a little more kind than the first trimester. Right before we met, you busted the zipper on a pair of my jeans and I'm now having to officially wear maternity pants. I've also gone up a couple of bra sizes and had to invest in a new one. If you have any mercy on me, you'll continue to subside my hunger and provide me with a little more energy and motivation so I can get back into the gym. I look forward  to spending these next 15 weeks with you.

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

I know they say "shrimp" to give us an idea of how long the bay is now, but we've been using fruits and veggies as examples. I prefer sticking with those. Another site referred to the bay as a large peach now.
