17 weeks

from babycenter.com

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — his lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and he's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. He can move his joints, and his sweat glands are starting to develop.

The only thing new in The Condon world is, of course baby related. This past weekend my parents were up and the baby's nursery has begun it's transformation. When we were remodeling the new house, we were planning our wedding and knew that shortly thereafter we would be expanding our family. We had the baby's room pre-selected and decided to go with a neutral color for the paint- beige. Doesn't get any more neutral than that ;)
A few weeks ago I had big plans to put up chair rail and then to paint only the lower half with thick stripes. I've been an online searching fool and got my inspiration from other nurseries. I've also become a HUGE fan of Etsy and have been swayed away from the stripes and am thinking of going the decal route now. Rich prefers this anyway, as the decals can easily be removed. Anyway, we've only just begun, but my dad and Richie completed the chair rail on Saturday. I will continue to share the nursery progression as we start getting in the furniture. Here is the beginning:

We ordered our boy's cool new wheels, aka stroller, a couple of weeks ago from a site that offers daily deals. With that daily deal they were offering, plus an additional online coup I found, we got our stroller for almost half off. We couldn't pass up that bargain. Rich was nervous about ordering something sight unseen so we found a local retailer who carried it and went and tested it out first. It converts from bassinet to stroller and is reversible, meaning I can have the baby facing me or out into the world. It's really awesome and I just have to share a pic of it with you. I can't wait to stroll him around! ;o)
