Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)

He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

20 weeks down and another 20 to go. As you can see, our boy just keeps growing. We went to have our 20 week ultrasound yesterday. This was the fetal anatomy scan which consisted  of measuring all of his organs. The tech commented on how great everything looked, and especially on how large Baby C's hands and feet were. She also mentioned that we are measuring about 21 weeks, so we're about a week ahead of schedule. Whoohoo!

Maureen was able to come with us to the viewing, and she got to see her grandson dancing all around. The ultrasound confirmed, once again, that he's all boy. He even threw up either gang signs or was waving "hi" to us at one point. Have a looksie for yourself. Rich and I are so overjoyed, we can't even wait for the day until we can meet him and really get to watch him grow then. Ahhh...
