Universal or bust

These days, since it seems we're continuously busy, it would feel weird to not have something going on. Last weekend was actually a free weekend for us. No plans. Just us. Until I had a wild bug up my butt to drag my family out to Kissimmee at 6 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Surprisingly, we made it out of the house and were at our destination on time. That was a first. Well, maybe a second.
Kissimmee was having their Hot Air Balloon Festival. When we got out there, about 6 balloons were blown up or in the process of getting up. It was fascinating. While we anxiously awaited their launch, they actually started to deflate and to pack up. Whaaaaat do you mean, they're not launching?!?!? What I thought was a beautiful morning, was just a tad bit windy for those ballooners. Dreams crushed. LOL Maybe next year.

After our crazy trek to Kissimmee, we ended up at Florida Mall to door bust. It was only a little after 8 a.m. so by the time we got there, we wouldn't have to wait long for them to open, right? Wrong! Our lesson for the day was that the mall does not open until 10. That, I will never forget. So to pass the time, we laid out the blanket and breakfast goodies we intended to eat at the festival, and had a Condon family picnic under a tree, in the grass, AT THE MALL! hahaa Luckily, there wasn't much traffic so not too many people saw us. Nothing says "Family" like a mall parking lot picnic. We scored some cute pics out there too!

Then, an impromptu photo shoot inside the mall before it got crowded :)

After we fulfilled our retail therapy void, going home was probably a great idea. It had been a busy morning already. Instead of stopping our fun at the mall, it was Universal or bust. We spent quite a few hours out there. Had our fun, then dinner at Margaritaville. By the time we got home, we were all dead tired. Once the boys were in bed, Rich and I shortly followed.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love my family, and how much I cherish the fun we have?!
